The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the game, Dobromir Adamowicz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ferdinando Di Persio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Atletico Van Goof getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Felix Guernica hit a great ball. Ferdinando Di Persio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciro Donati in the 10th minute of play. The supporters of Carloforte f.c. booed when Atletico Van Goof was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuele Guerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ferdinando Di Persio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciro Donati, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lennart Härm in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ferdinando Di Persio saved Atletico Van Goof from getting behind. Ferdinando Di Persio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciro Donati, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Ferdinando Di Persio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ciro Donati went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Ferdinando Di Persio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ettore Brunetta in the 23rd minute of play. Waclaw Zajonc stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ercole Marcon's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. In the 25th minute Ercole Marcon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waclaw Zajonc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Filippo Festa hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. 34 minutes into the game, Ettore Brunetta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Ferdinando Di Persio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 38th minute, Lennart Härm left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Carloforte f.c. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. 41 minutes into the match, Atletico Van Goof's goal looked a bit too open when Lennart Härm came free, but Ferdinando Di Persio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, Atletico Van Goof's Waclaw Zajonc threw himself towards the right post 44 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ercole Marcon, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 44 minutes into the game, Sid Eldridge was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Atletico Van Goof's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carloforte f.c. the free kick. The supporters of Carloforte f.c. booed when Atletico Van Goof was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sid Eldridge didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ferdinando Di Persio came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Carloforte f.c.'s Ettore Brunetta. But to his dismay, Ettore Brunetta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. After the first half Carloforte f.c. were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lennart Härm stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Ercole Marcon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waclaw Zajonc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ferdinando Di Persio was a little too slow when Ettore Brunetta got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 59th minute. The score was now 0-7. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Dobromir Adamowicz took a quick shot and it went in 0-8 without a chance for Ferdinando Di Persio to make any attempt to save it. If Lennart Härm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 70 minutes into the match, Atletico Van Goof's goal looked a bit too open when Dobromir Adamowicz came free, but Ferdinando Di Persio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Atletico Van Goof's goalkeeper Ferdinando Di Persio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lennart Härm. In the 73rd minute of the match, Lennart Härm got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ferdinando Di Persio was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ercole Marcon in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Waclaw Zajonc saved Carloforte f.c. from getting behind. In the 78th minute, Lennart Härm left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Carloforte f.c.'s Dave Pozzoli was substituted for Ettore Brunetta. Lennart Härm could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Ferdinando Di Persio made a huge save. Atletico Van Goof's Ferdinando Di Persio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Atletico Van Goof from getting a goal against them. 88 minutes into the game, Carloforte f.c.'s Bernardo Antonelli nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ferdinando Di Persio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-10. Atletico Van Goof's Ferdinando Di Persio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arrigo Guidoni in the 92nd minute of play. Bernardo Antonelli scored 0-11 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ferdinando Di Persio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 96 minutes of play, Carloforte f.c.'s Dave Pozzoli made it 0-12 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ferdinando Di Persio was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Atletico Van Goof fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Carloforte f.c. were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
