With a couple of smart ball manuevers Martin Vidales in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ernesto Bussi saved Lupiae Salento from getting behind. Ernesto Bussi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ercole Falone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Fabio Mandelli got free with Biagio Lenci in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
