Cosimo Festuccia might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ernesto Bussi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cosimo Festuccia ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Lupiae Salento's Ernesto Bussi got control of the ball when Frank Moscatelli tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Frank Moscatelli in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ernesto Bussi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Frank Moscatelli didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 2-0 via right post in the game's 18th minute. Gom Gom FC's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! Lupiae Salento's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Frank Moscatelli 21 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-0. In the 26th minute, Gom Gom FC's Aurelio Santoro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-0. 29 minutes into the game, Gom Gom FC's Frank Moscatelli nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ernesto Bussi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. If Frank Moscatelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 36 minutes into the match, Lupiae Salento's goalkeeper Ernesto Bussi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cosimo Festuccia. In a very dangerous position, a player in Lupiae Salento fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 37th minute. Penalty! From close distance Frank Moscatelli pressed in the 7-0 goal high up into nets stiches in the right cross 41 minutes into the game. Ernesto Bussi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Moscatelli in the 44th minute of play. Fabio Mandelli hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Lupiae Salento's Ernesto Bussi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Lupiae Salento from getting a goal against them. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 7-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frank Moscatelli stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Antonello Tucci received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Ernesto Bussi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ernesto Bussi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Moscatelli, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Ernesto Bussi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aurelio Santoro went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score. Ernesto Bussi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cosimo Festuccia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frank Moscatelli might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ernesto Bussi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Frank Moscatelli ran back to his position shaking his head. Gom Gom FC's Cristiano Alessandrini was substituted for Flavio Antognoni. Ernesto Bussi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cosimo Festuccia in the 70th minute of the match. After having played for 72 minutes, Frank Moscatelli managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gom Gom FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frank Moscatelli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gom Gom FC made a substitution. Cristoforo Epifani replaced Cosimo Festuccia. In the 74th minute, Eraldo Fortuna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Lupiae Salento getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Alvise Schiacciacasse hit a great ball. In the 78th minute Frank Moscatelli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernesto Bussi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 81 minutes into the match, Gom Gom FC's Frank Moscatelli sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ernesto Bussi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Aurelio Santoro took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ernesto Bussi. Ernesto Bussi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 9-0. Frank Moscatelli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 88 minutes, Cristoforo Epifani mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gom Gom FC and the Lupiae Salento players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Frank Moscatelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gom Gom FC's Emiliano Minichiello got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gom Gom FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
