When Frank Menna fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grottaferrata's protests and gave Frank Menna a yellow card for diving instead. When Edmondo Cassone came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Augusta Taurinorum fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmondo Cassone couldn't finish the play. Grottaferrata's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. There was no doubt that Augusta Taurinorum were the better team. Augusta Taurinorum's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
