Spectators: 7997 (Terracing: 5999, Seating: 1839, VIP seats: 159) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Antonello Arpaia started the match with the kick off. Demetrio Scafati showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alessandro Di Florio, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Attilio Vieri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Attilio Vieri struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Dario Damiani didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cancello. If Antonello Arpaia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute, Turo Leppilampi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 21 played minutes Cancello got a freekick which was hit by Emilio Mancinelli. After 22 played minutes, crespo's Comunardo Di Berardino shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Demetrio Scafati came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in crespo reached it. crespo's Dario Damiani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Turo Leppilampi in the 27th minute of play. Hernan Gervaso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Dario Damiani made a huge save. Turo Leppilampi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of crespo booed when Cancello was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Turo Leppilampi didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonello Arpaia in the 35th minute of play forced Cancello's goalkeeper Demetrio Scafati to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 43 minutes into the game, Federico Buonanno was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. crespo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cancello the free kick. Federico Buonanno kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. If Antonello Arpaia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 47 minutes into the match, crespo's Antonello Arpaia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Demetrio Scafati narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hernan Gervaso to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Turo Leppilampi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dario Damiani was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Turo Leppilampi in the 57th minute of play forced crespo's goalkeeper Dario Damiani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dario Damiani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hernan Gervaso in the 59th minute of the match. Dario Damiani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Turo Leppilampi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 64 minutes, Dario Di Gaetano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. crespo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dario Di Gaetano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 66th minute, Alessandro Di Florio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 68 played minutes Cancello got a freekick which was hit by Alexander Gaeta. After 80 minutes of play, Cancello's Hernan Gervaso made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dario Damiani was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cancello's Hernan Gervaso got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. crespo's Dario Damiani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eraldo Santone in the 84th minute of play. With an all-out effort, crespo's Demetrio Scafati threw himself towards the right post 87 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alessandro Di Florio, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Dario Damiani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hernan Gervaso in the 88th minute of the match. Ferdinando Cristofari charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ferdinando Cristofari the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Cancello booed when crespo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferdinando Cristofari didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 95 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cancello! After 96 minutes Cancello's goalkeeper Demetrio Scafati managed, with a little bit of luck, save Comunardo Di Berardino's penalty, on his right side after a tricky shot. Demetrio Scafati came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by crespo's Comunardo Di Berardino. But to his dismay, Comunardo Di Berardino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1.
