Cesare Minotti had in the 9thth minute some difficulties stopping Attilio Vieri's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 11th minute Domenico Rosi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Demetrio Scafati saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hernan Gervaso got free with Cesare Minotti in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rock's Cesare Minotti proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Rock from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Rock getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Domenico Rosi hit a great ball. The supporters of Rock booed when Cancello was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emilio Mancinelli didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cesare Minotti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Turo Leppilampi in the 27th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Rock's goal looked a bit too open when Turo Leppilampi came free, but Cesare Minotti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cesare Minotti made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hernan Gervaso in the 31st minute. Gilberto Silva kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Turo Leppilampi took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cesare Minotti. Cesare Minotti dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Hernan Gervaso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Cancello's Eraldo Santone got a free kick in the 44th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Antonio Simonetti to make the kick off. In the 51st minute Turo Leppilampi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cesare Minotti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hernan Gervaso scored 5-0 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cesare Minotti, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 61 minutes of play, Cancello's Turo Leppilampi made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cesare Minotti was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Attilio Vieri in the 65th minute of play forced Rock's goalkeeper Cesare Minotti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 66 minutes, the score became 7-0 when Hernan Gervaso sped through Rock's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Cesare Minotti. In the 69th minute Camillo Bracco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Demetrio Scafati saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Attilio Vieri struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Cesare Minotti didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cancello. 74 minutes into the match, Cancello's goalkeeper Demetrio Scafati had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antonio Simonetti. After 78 minutes of play, Cancello's Hernan Gervaso made it 8-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cesare Minotti was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Attilio Vieri in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cesare Minotti saved Rock from getting behind.
