Ercole Trombetta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Franco Toledano in the 8th minute of the match. Tivoli's Adriano Rondinelli was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 11th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Grugliasco's Ercole Trombetta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ennio Causio in the 16th minute of play. Ennio Rucci kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Ercole Trombetta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adriano Rondinelli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 25th minute, Alberigo Cavaliere hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Grugliasco's Ercole Trombetta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adriano Rondinelli in the 29th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, Grugliasco's goalkeeper Ercole Trombetta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Franco Toledano. In the 32nd minute Adriano Rondinelli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ercole Trombetta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Grugliasco's Ercole Trombetta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Grugliasco from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Achille Palone's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ildephonso Toledano was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 52nd minute Adriano Bisegna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ercole Trombetta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 54 played minutes Tivoli got a freekick which was hit by Alberigo Cavaliere. If Adriano Rondinelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tivoli's Augusto Cicchetti was substituted for Ennio Causio. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Franco Toledano in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ercole Trombetta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Achille Palone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ildephonso Toledano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Achille Palone in the 62nd minute of play. After having played for 68 minutes, Franco Toledano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tivoli's supporters crossed their fingers, but Franco Toledano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ercole Trombetta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Augusto Cicchetti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Grugliasco's Ercole Trombetta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adriano Rondinelli in the 76th minute of play. Grugliasco's Eneto Bajo was substituted for Achille Palone. In the 78th minute Tivoli were awarded a corner. Alberigo Cavaliere went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Tivoli's Alberigo Cavaliere to fire away a dangerous shot which Ercole Trombetta despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ercole Trombetta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Bisegna, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Grugliasco's Ercole Trombetta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adriano Bisegna in the 81st minute of play. 81 minutes into the game, Adriano Bisegna cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Ercole Trombetta was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Enzo Filice hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Rogelio Mercurio who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 94thth minute tested the skills of Ildephonso Toledano when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Tivoli's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
