Spectators: 7840 (Terracing: 5830, Seating: 1850, VIP seats: 160) eraclea's Bruno Placidi started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Placidi in the 6th minute of play forced Palestra14's goalkeeper Frits Heinel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 9th minute, Antoni Rode hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 12th minute, Dennis Iezzi fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Frits Heinel, passed just outside the right post. In the 18th minute, Cain Vieri ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Didi Fanfarone was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 25 minutes into the match, Palestra14's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Placidi came free, but Frits Heinel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to eraclea getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Comunardo Palma hit a great ball. In the 26th minute, Fausto Fioriti left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Palestra14 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Fausto Fioriti put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Didi Fanfarone. 34 minutes into the match, Attilio Torelli notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of eraclea's Didi Fanfarone. Didi Fanfarone was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Attilio Torelli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Palestra14 booed when eraclea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Javier Villarreal didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Tilmann Bünder fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palestra14's protests and gave Tilmann Bünder a yellow card for diving instead. In the 46th minute, Tilmann Bünder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 47 minutes into the match, Palestra14's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Placidi came free, but Frits Heinel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fausto Fioriti to make the kick off. Didi Fanfarone came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by Palestra14's Cain Vieri. But to his dismay, Cain Vieri quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. The audience thought a goal was coming when Attilio Torelli got free with Didi Fanfarone in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 59th match minute, Palestra14 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Beppe Dorigatti to maneuver through the defense. Javier Villarreal hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Didi Fanfarone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cain Vieri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frits Heinel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Placidi in the 74th minute of play. After 74 played minutes Palestra14 got a freekick which was hit by Dennis Del Vecchio. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Placidi in the 75th minute of play forced Palestra14's goalkeeper Frits Heinel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner ended in Anthony De Marco almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Palestra14's Frits Heinel did a great save. eraclea's Didi Fanfarone proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save eraclea from getting a goal against them. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Palestra14's goalkeeper Frits Heinel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 93rd minute, Bruno Placidi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Palestra14's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
