When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Camillo Genovese put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Cristoforo Musso. In the 30th minute Abel Chenard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristoforo Musso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arturo Tosi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ferdinando Di Camillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Camillo Genovese had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ferdinando Di Camillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Arturo Tosi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristoforo Musso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Camillo Genovese went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. In the 42nd minute, Jaromír Čížek ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cristoforo Musso was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. In the 48th minute, Arrigo Melone hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jaromír Čížek made a kick off. Ferdinando Di Camillo's late challenge caught a Bagni's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ferdinando Di Camillo helped the player get up and apologised. Ferdinando Di Camillo hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Ferdinando Di Camillo might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arturo Tosi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ferdinando Di Camillo ran back to his position shaking his head. Damiano Di Nucci sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
