Laykers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ermanno Lalli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Demetrio Greco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mateusz Smolarek in the 16th minute. In the 19th minute of the match Laykers got a corner. Manfredonia Calcio 1932's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cosimo Bussi ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Laykers's corner Carmine Cavanna fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Alfredo Torelli quite easily take care of the ball. The Laykers fans' excitement grew in the 19th match minute when Laykers's Carmine Cavanna looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Florian Frezza during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alfredo Torelli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ermanno Lalli in the 25th minute of the match. Laykers's Demetrio Greco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto Giandomenico in the 57th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alessandro Del Piero in the 64th minute of play forced Laykers's goalkeeper Demetrio Greco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfredo Torelli made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carmine Cavanna in the 67th minute. Laykers were awarded a corner in the 69th minute after Manfredonia Calcio 1932's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cosimo Bussi took the corner.
