San Giorgio's 吕凌天 got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a left leg Modesto Oakley saved Lilywhites from getting behind. 吕凌天 blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Modesto Oakley having to make a save. 吕凌天 could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Modesto Oakley made a huge save. Enrico Simeoni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Modesto Oakley having to interfere. In the 44th match minute, Lilywhites was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amerigo Egger to maneuver through the defense. Lilywhites's Modesto Oakley proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Lilywhites from getting a goal against them. Lilywhites's Modesto Oakley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enrico Simeoni in the 47th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 90th minute of the match Lilywhites got a corner. Pol. San Giorgio's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ermanno Baratta ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 94th match minute, Pol. San Giorgio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonello Albertosi to maneuver through the defense. In the 96th minute, Cosimo Michelini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
