In the 16th minute of the match Carioca FC got a corner. Aris Salonicco FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Pedro Luiz Macedo ran over to the corner to take the kick. Emiliano Bracco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Giampaolo Pazzini in the 18th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute, Giampaolo Pazzini left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Aris Salonicco FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Emiliano Bracco came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Aris Salonicco FC's Giampaolo Pazzini. But to his dismay, Giampaolo Pazzini quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Giampaolo Pazzini was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Aris Salonicco FC's goal looked a bit too open when Emilio Ceci came free, but Biagio Polo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 54th minute Emilio Ceci shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Biagio Polo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Biagio Polo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniele Bani in the 56th minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, Carioca FC's goal looked a bit too open when Franco Lombardi came free, but Emiliano Bracco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 60 minutes, Alexander Ansoldi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carioca FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexander Ansoldi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aris Salonicco FC's Biagio Polo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexander Ansoldi in the 62nd minute of play. Aris Salonicco FC's Federico Cardano was substituted for Giampaolo Pazzini. In the 64th minute of the match Carioca FC got a corner. Fabrizio Luciano thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Biagio Polo, a very annoying self made goal in the 65th minute which led to 1-3. The supporters of Carioca FC booed when Aris Salonicco FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Di Marino didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Daniele Bani came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Carioca FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniele Bani couldn't finish the play. Biagio Polo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexander Ansoldi in the 76th minute of the match. In the 79th minute Ferdinando Cacciatore shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emiliano Bracco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carioca FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 84th minute, when Bernardo De Sisti scored to the left of an out of position Emiliano Bracco, making the score, 1-4. When Franco Lombardi came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Aris Salonicco FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Franco Lombardi couldn't finish the play. Carlo Bocchi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 95 minutes into the match, Carioca FC's goal looked a bit too open when Federico Cardano came free, but Emiliano Bracco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 96th match minute, Carioca FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camillo Chiola to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle sounded Aris Salonicco FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Carioca FC.
