Corrado Spitaleri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudio Caniggia, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardo Benarrivo in the 89th minute of play forced Borgo Doria F.C.'s goalkeeper Corrado Spitaleri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Borgo Doria F.C. defense, Bernardo Benarrivo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Corrado Spitaleri. The Borgo Doria F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Corrado Spitaleri should have stopped the shot. Corrado Spitaleri didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bernardo Benarrivo went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Borgo Doria F.C.'s players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
