József Szakács was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 19 played minutes Tótvázsony got a freekick which was hit by Sándor Tolnai. Máriapócs's Henrik Hollósi got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Henrik Hollósi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Máriapócs's supporters rose to their feet, but Henrik Hollósi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. József Szakács breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Máriapócs booed when Tótvázsony was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Botond Dudics didn't get a good kick on the ball. József Szakács made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henrik Hollósi in the 32nd minute of play. Botond Dudics sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 48 played minutes Máriapócs got a freekick which was hit by Ákos Baranyai. After the first half Máriapócs were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bálint Tokaji to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Botond Dudics in the 55th minute of play forced Máriapócs's goalkeeper Tibor Kurucz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bálint Tokaji sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bálint Tokaji recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Béla Császár hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. József Szakács made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ákos Baranyai in the 67th minute. After some careless play in the Máriapócs defense, Botond Dudics kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tibor Kurucz. The Máriapócs fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tibor Kurucz should have stopped the shot. Máriapócs's Henrik Hollósi got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 74 played minutes Máriapócs got a freekick which was hit by Károly Boros. In the 83rd minute Bálint Tokaji shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tibor Kurucz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 87th match minute, Tótvázsony was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Márton Várdai to maneuver through the defense. In the 88th minute, Károly Boros sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Tótvázsony's József Szakács didn't even have to move. Ákos Baranyai in the 91stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of József Szakács, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save.
