Barnabás Vajda made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind ขอนแก่น's goalkeeper Barnabás Vajda, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 24 minutes into the match, ขอนแก่น's goal looked a bit too open when Péter Gyenes came free, but Barnabás Vajda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 28 minutes into the game, Ferdinánd Kálmán cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Henry Holm was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Barnabás Vajda didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Csaba Saághy went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Balázs Tímár fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barnabás Vajda having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Csaba Saághy to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, ขอนแก่น's Károly Paál got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 58th minute, Imre Bodonyi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Henry Holm was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-5. 62 minutes into the game, ขอนแก่น's Imre Bodonyi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Henry Holm made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-5. Balázs Tímár received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Barnabás Vajda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kisvarsány's Henry Holm played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Imre Bodonyi in the 81st minute of play. If Balázs Tímár had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ákos Ambrus's late challenge caught a Kisvarsány's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ákos Ambrus helped the player get up and apologised. Csaba Saághy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Barnabás Vajda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match was over Kisvarsány could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than ขอนแก่น throughout the match.
