Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ákos Szívós started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Diósgyőri FC booed when Nyírkarász was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebestyén Gyárfás didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kálmán Szőnyi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ákos Szívós in the 10th minute of play. After 17 played minutes Nyírkarász got a freekick which was hit by Márton László. Nyírkarász's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Ákos Szívós 26 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Kálmán Szőnyi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ákos Szívós, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Gábor Rácz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sebestyén Gyárfás struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Márton Grósz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nyírkarász. Márton Grósz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebestyén Gyárfás in the 40th minute of the match. Nyírkarász's Kálmán Szőnyi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Nyírkarász from getting a goal against them. Gábor Rácz's late challenge caught a Diósgyőri FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gábor Rácz helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Nyírkarász getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Gábor Rácz hit a great ball. In the 46th minute, Sebestyén Gyárfás hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zakariás Demeter stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ákos Szívós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ákos Szívós took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kálmán Szőnyi. Kálmán Szőnyi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. If Ákos Szívós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66thth minute of the game Dániel Szabadi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Nyírkarász's Kálmán Szőnyi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nyírkarász's Kálmán Szőnyi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dániel Szabadi in the 69th minute of play. Sebestyén Gyárfás hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. A collision led to Nyírkarász getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Zakariás Demeter hit a great ball. Dániel Szabadi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kálmán Szőnyi having to interfere. Kálmán Szőnyi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dániel Szabadi, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Márton Grósz came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Nyírkarász's Zakariás Demeter. But to his dismay, Zakariás Demeter quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. After having played for 95 minutes, Gábor Rácz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nyírkarász's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gábor Rácz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Diósgyőri FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Nyírkarász had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
