The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Árpád Mezei received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Marcell Keresztes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Márió Szőnyi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ottó Mesterházy in the 14th minute of the match. When Péter Földes came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Arzignano Grifo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Péter Földes couldn't finish the play. In the 18th match minute, Ugod was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elemér Vass to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Ottó Mesterházy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arzignano Grifo's supporters rose to their feet, but Ottó Mesterházy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Márió Szőnyi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 23 minutes into the match, Ugod's goal looked a bit too open when Péter Földes came free, but Márió Szőnyi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Roland Szikora fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arzignano Grifo's protests and gave Roland Szikora a yellow card for diving instead. Roland Szikora hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. In the 46th minute Ottó Mesterházy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Márió Szőnyi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 48 minutes into the match, Ugod's goal looked a bit too open when Péter Földes came free, but Márió Szőnyi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Arzignano Grifo were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Miklós Bánhegyi was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ugod's goalkeeper Márió Szőnyi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 59th minute, Péter Földes fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 62 minutes into the match, Ugod's goalkeeper Márió Szőnyi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Péter Földes. When Gábor Hegyi fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ugod's protests and gave Gábor Hegyi a yellow card for diving instead.
