The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vendel Hellinger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. The audience was convinced that Vendel Hellinger's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kálmán Virágh was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. After 7 played minutes Puskás Akadémia got a freekick which was hit by Márton Koós. After some careless play in the Gomba SK defense, Csaba Bihari kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kálmán Virágh. The Gomba SK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kálmán Virágh should have stopped the shot. 18 minutes into the match, Gomba SK's goal looked a bit too open when Ede Erős came free, but Kálmán Virágh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emánuel Madaras kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. When Ádám Újváry came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Puskás Akadémia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ádám Újváry couldn't finish the play. After 37 minutes, Ádám Újváry made it 0-6 with a short kick to the right side. Gomba SK's Kálmán Virágh tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-8 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell József Szántó to make the kick off. If Zsolt Medve had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 57th minute, Ádám Újváry left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Puskás Akadémia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-10. When Vendel Hellinger came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Puskás Akadémia fans jumped to their feet. Kálmán Virágh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ede Erős, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Ádám Újváry might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kálmán Virágh. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ádám Újváry ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet as Puskás Akadémia's Ádám Újváry slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Kálmán Virágh. That made the score 0-12 after 67 minutes of play. In the 70th minute Ede Erős shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kálmán Virágh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Márton Koós managed to get in a good position for a shot. Puskás Akadémia's supporters rose to their feet, but Márton Koós was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kálmán Virágh breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 73 minutes into the game, Jeromos Gácsi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gomba SK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Puskás Akadémia the free kick. After 73 played minutes Gomba SK got a freekick which was hit by Jeromos Gácsi. If Zsolt Medve had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 77th minute, Puskás Akadémia's Márton Koós ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Kálmán Virágh. Kálmán Virágh yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-13. When the match clock showed 84 minutes, the score became 0-15 when Ádám Újváry sped through Gomba SK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Kálmán Virágh. Gergely Hatvani took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gusztáv Horváth. Gusztáv Horváth dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-15. Ádám Újváry fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kálmán Virágh having to interfere. If József Lázár had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Puskás Akadémia's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
