The audience thought a goal was coming when Miklós Pálosi got free with József Lőrincz in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 13th minute Sándor Orosz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Siro Osasun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 14 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Zoltán Kozák sped through Sajószöged KTK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of József Lőrincz. In the 18th minute, Zoltán Kozák got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. FlagellumDei were awarded a corner in the 27th minute after Sajószöged KTK's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tibor Pucheli took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Sajószöged KTK's goalie and right to Endre Döbrögi. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Sajószöged KTK's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Károly Berta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sándor Orosz's late challenge caught a FlagellumDei's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sándor Orosz helped the player get up and apologised. In the 31st minute, Sándor Orosz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. József Lőrincz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tibor Pucheli, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. József Lőrincz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tibor Pucheli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Sajószöged KTK's József Lőrincz got control of the ball when Károly Berta tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zoltán Kozák in the 36th minute of play forced Sajószöged KTK's goalkeeper József Lőrincz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. József Lőrincz had in the 39thth minute some difficulties stopping Tibor Pucheli's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 39 minutes, Brúnó Bodnár mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sajószöged KTK and the FlagellumDei players grew even worse after the yellow card. Brúnó Bodnár hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Sajószöged KTK's József Lőrincz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Sajószöged KTK from getting a goal against them. Tibor Pucheli struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. József Lőrincz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FlagellumDei. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zoltán Kozák stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Sajószöged KTK's goal looked a bit too open when Zoltán Kozák came free, but József Lőrincz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 52 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sajószöged KTK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tibor Pucheli was slow to take the kick. During this time FlagellumDei's players had a chance to rest. FlagellumDei's Tibor Pucheli was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but József Lőrincz in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tibor Pucheli in the 58th minute of play forced Sajószöged KTK's goalkeeper József Lőrincz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zoltán Kozák took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised József Lőrincz. Sajószöged KTK's József Lőrincz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miklós Pálosi in the 72nd minute of play. József Lőrincz came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by FlagellumDei's Zoltán Kozák. But to his dismay, Zoltán Kozák quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Sajószöged KTK's József Lőrincz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miklós Pálosi in the 78th minute of play.
