When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Konstantinos Kroustallis sped through TUSE's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fülöp Magos. In the 8th minute, Krisztián Bartha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fülöp Magos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zoltán Varga, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. A collision led to Gyál United getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Erwin Bienvenu hit a great ball. Gyula Grosics made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bertold Gyurkovics in the 22nd minute of play. In the 59th minute of the match Gyál United got a corner. TUSE's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ignác Mayer ran over to the corner to take the kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zoltán Varga in the 61st managed to get into a good position. Zoltán Varga got in the 88th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Fülöp Magos handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Gyál United's Gyula Grosics played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Krisztián Bartha in the 95th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The TUSE fans cheered their team off the field, for while Gyál United had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
