The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Péter Simkó stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kálmán Gácsi's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. After 5 minutes 1866 Lokomotiv Kanizsa's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tamás Herczegh who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Tamás Herczegh got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Péter Simkó quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a defensive mix-up in 1866 Lokomotiv Kanizsa's zone, Kálmán Gácsi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Péter Simkó came out of the goal and Kálmán Gácsi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. András Selymes got a throw-in 17 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Dávid Kerekes. In the 19th match minute, Zalasárszeg OSE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by András Selymes to maneuver through the defense. Csaba Végvári kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Efrain Fuentes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but György Tóth read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Efrain Fuentes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of György Tóth. Zalasárszeg OSE's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Efrain Fuentes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Márton Horváth struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Péter Simkó didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zalasárszeg OSE. A sloppy throw-in by András Selymes in the 36th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by 1866 Lokomotiv Kanizsa's Thanos Kolompár. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kálmán Gácsi in the 39th minute of play forced 1866 Lokomotiv Kanizsa's goalkeeper Péter Simkó to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Damian Olejarz struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. György Tóth didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for 1866 Lokomotiv Kanizsa. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Efrain Fuentes to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Efrain Fuentes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but György Tóth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A throw-in in the 55th minute of the game was made by András Selymes with Dávid Kerekes as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Kálmán Gácsi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Péter Simkó having to interfere. András Selymes got a throw-in 59 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Dávid Kerekes. In the 69th minute, Damian Olejarz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 1866 Lokomotiv Kanizsa made a substitution. Angel Rodrigo replaced Muhammet Dirican. 77 minutes into the match, Zalasárszeg OSE's goal looked a bit too open when Efrain Fuentes came free, but György Tóth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. György Tóth made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in 1866 Lokomotiv Kanizsa reached it. Many of Zalasárszeg OSE's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Zalasárszeg OSE may have spent more time on the ball, but 1866 Lokomotiv Kanizsa were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
