In the 8th minute of the match, Miklós Szakács got a very nice opportunity to score, but Rene Higuita was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gábor Joó in the 13th minute of play forced Yeovil's goalkeeper Marcell Hellinger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Valencia CF Mindszent booed when Yeovil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Krisztián Harsányi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rene Higuita made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Attila Veres sent off a good shot on target. Yeovil's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gábor Joó was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. A sloppy throw-in by Roberto Carlo in the 38th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Yeovil's Krisztián Harsányi. József Pucheli hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match.

After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Gábor Joó managed to get in a good position for a shot. Valencia CF Mindszent's supporters rose to their feet, but Gábor Joó was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcell Hellinger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Valencia CF Mindszent's Gáspár Rigó quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Tamás Menyhért, made in the 55th minute of the game. 60 minutes into the match, Valencia CF Mindszent's Gábor Joó sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcell Hellinger narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rene Higuita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Attila Veres in the 61st minute of play. Valencia CF Mindszent's supporters crossed their fingers, but Konstantin Fitos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 84th minute Valencia CF Mindszent were awarded a corner. Roberto Carlo went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Roberto Carlo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Marcell Hellinger quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Rene Higuita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Márk Kántor in the 85th minute of the match. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Valencia CF Mindszent's goalkeeper Rene Higuita, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Konstantin Fitos got free with Marcell Hellinger in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Valencia CF Mindszent's Konstantin Fitos in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Yeovil's goalie prevented a goal.
