Spectators: 6841 (Terracing: 5841, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Želimir Kedžo started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. NK KretenizaM's defense didn't have a chance, in the 5th minute, when Želimir Kedžo scored to the left of an out of position Perica Iskra, making the score, 1-0. After 12 played minutes, NK KretenizaM's Kristijan Krivačić shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Eduard Jović came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in NK KretenizaM reached it. The crowd rose to their feet as HNK Rijeka's Želimir Kedžo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Perica Iskra. That made the score 2-0 after 16 minutes of play. After a defensive mix-up in NK KretenizaM's zone, Želimir Kedžo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Perica Iskra came out of the goal and Želimir Kedžo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 22nd minute Tvrtko Židanik shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduard Jović saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Petar Mesić kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Želimir Kedžo in the 32nd minute of play forced NK KretenizaM's goalkeeper Perica Iskra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd match minute, HNK Rijeka was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dalibor Smoljo to maneuver through the defense. In the 37th minute Želimir Kedžo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Perica Iskra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Petar Mesić recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Želimir Kedžo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Perica Iskra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dalibor Smoljo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Želimir Kedžo managed to get in a good position for a shot. HNK Rijeka's supporters rose to their feet, but Želimir Kedžo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Perica Iskra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tvrtko Židanik was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, NK KretenizaM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Janko Pauk to maneuver through the defense. Harry Zoetmulder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The HNK Rijeka fans' excitement grew in the 59th match minute when HNK Rijeka's Harry Zoetmulder looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Želimir Kedžo put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Perica Iskra. Perica Iskra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harry Zoetmulder in the 71st minute of play. Valter Preradović received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Perica Iskra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Perica Iskra stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valter Preradović's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. When HNK Rijeka's Valter Preradović in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye NK KretenizaM's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of NK KretenizaM booed when HNK Rijeka was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dalibor Smoljo didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dalibor Smoljo in the 97th minute of play forced NK KretenizaM's goalkeeper Perica Iskra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. HNK Rijeka had played much better football throughout.
