A collision led to HNK HAJDUK SPLIT getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Karlo Smojver hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Berislav Brozović in the 25th minute of play forced Orebić's goalkeeper Radimir Radovan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Vlatko Pinjatela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ljubomir Crnković could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Stanimir Baričević made a huge save. Vlatko Pinjatela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stanimir Baričević having to interfere. Ljubomir Crnković who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Stanimir Baričević when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
