The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 3 minutes, Šime Kovačec managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Pivo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Šime Kovačec was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Silvije Bratković blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vilim Stipančević having to make a save. Želimir Štefanić hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. After 12 played minutes FC Pivo got a freekick which was hit by Rikard Lovrinović. 15 minutes into the game, one of FC Pivo:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Boris Vušković sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 22 minutes into the match, Tomica Jelavić notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of FC Pivo's Mihael Munivrana. Mihael Munivrana was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Boris Vušković hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. 34 minutes into the game, Želimir Štefanić was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Pivo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KK Dubrovnik the free kick. The supporters of KK Dubrovnik booed when FC Pivo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Želimir Štefanić didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Boris Vušković had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute, Silvije Bratković got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomica Jelavić to strike the kick off in the second half. Vilim Stipančević made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvije Bratković in the 52nd minute of play. In the 54thth minute of the game Silvije Bratković who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but KK Dubrovnik's Vilim Stipančević was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vilim Stipančević took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvije Bratković, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Boris Vušković took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Mihael Munivrana to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of FC Pivo booed when KK Dubrovnik was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Viktor Benko didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Silvije Bratković's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vilim Stipančević was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. In the 77th minute, Silvije Bratković got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 78 minutes into the match, KK Dubrovnik's goal looked a bit too open when Šime Kovačec came free, but Vilim Stipančević reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Silvije Bratković sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84th minute Silvije Bratković shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vilim Stipančević saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vilim Stipančević showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silvije Bratković in the 86th minute of the match. Silvije Bratković struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Vilim Stipančević didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Pivo. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. KK Dubrovnik had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
