With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mato Popivoda in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rato Dragozetić saved Nova Raca from getting behind. Dejan Juršić who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 10thth minute tested the skills of Miha Munjaković when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Milan Jelača kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. In the 15th minute of the match Berislav Opašić sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rato Dragozetić skillfully saved the ball. If Mato Popivoda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Nova Raca booed when Babina Greda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vilim Bunić didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rato Dragozetić came out of the goal and Mato Popivoda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rato Dragozetić showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mislav Šimunić in the 41st minute of the match. In the 46th match minute, Nova Raca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frano Maračić to maneuver through the defense. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Frano Maračić to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mato Popivoda got free with Rato Dragozetić in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Nova Raca's zone, Mislav Šimunić stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rato Dragozetić came out of the goal and Mislav Šimunić tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adolf Šunić kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. If Mato Popivoda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Babina Greda's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
