The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Staro Petrovo Selo booed when Sisačka Odra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joško Lujo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mile Svirac sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Teodor Bednjanec made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Nikica Lutkić sent off a good shot on target. 17 minutes into the match, Staro Petrovo Selo's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Orešić came free, but Miljenko Domitrović reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute, Mile Svirac fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Teodor Bednjanec made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Nikica Lutkić sent off a good shot on target. When Sisačka Odra's Rafael Orešić in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Staro Petrovo Selo's goalie prevented a goal. Luka Barbir fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miljenko Domitrović having to interfere. If Luka Barbir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rafael Orešić blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Miljenko Domitrović having to make a save. Nikica Lutkić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teodor Bednjanec having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mile Svirac made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Krsto Čukman during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Krsto Čukman kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. With a little luck, Staro Petrovo Selo's Miljenko Domitrović got control of the ball when Luka Barbir tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nikica Lutkić struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Teodor Bednjanec didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Staro Petrovo Selo. Edi Matoš kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Nikica Lutkić sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Nikica Lutkić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nikica Lutkić in the 88th minute of play forced Sisačka Odra's goalkeeper Teodor Bednjanec to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Miljenko Domitrović showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Orešić, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. In the 93rd minute, Nikica Lutkić got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Nikica Lutkić came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Staro Petrovo Selo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nikica Lutkić couldn't finish the play. Sisačka Odra succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Staro Petrovo Selo had controlled the match.
