Spectators: 7630 (Terracing: 6000, Seating: 1550, VIP seats: 80) Šimun Ivanšić started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 3 minutes into the game, Viggo Hed was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pula's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mersin the free kick. A collision led to Pula getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Viggo Hed hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Krešo Knez during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 8th match minute, Pula was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Krešo Knez to maneuver through the defense. Arne Sandström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leopold Trbojević, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th minute, Filip Krivačić hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ivica Brdar made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Kryspin Rzeszutko sent off a good shot on target. If Šimun Ivanšić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd minute, Pula's Jakov Futač dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Ivica Brdar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Šimun Ivanšić in the 29th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Mersin's Leopold Trbojević sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arne Sandström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ivica Brdar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Šimun Ivanšić, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Jakov Futač fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivica Brdar having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Mersin's zone, Krešo Knez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivica Brdar came out of the goal and Krešo Knez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Šimun Ivanšić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Leopold Trbojević to strike the kick off in the second half. Ivica Brdar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kryspin Rzeszutko, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eugen Crnjak during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Viggo Hed was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 68 minutes had been played. The supporters of Mersin booed when Pula was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Viggo Hed didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Veljko Koščec fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pula's protests and gave Veljko Koščec a yellow card for diving instead. In the 95th minute Jakov Futač shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivica Brdar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Pula players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
