The supporters of Kaštel Kambelovac booed when Mersin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edo Brajković didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maksim Dumalovski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jadran Uljević, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kaštel Kambelovac's Maksim Dumalovski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopold Trbojević in the 36th minute of play. If Frano Kocković had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 42 minutes, Jadran Uljević managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mersin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jadran Uljević was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kaštel Kambelovac's goalkeeper Maksim Dumalovski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Frano Kocković recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Ištvan Brkan made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Janko Bandov cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Ivica Brdar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Izidor Mikas got a throw-in 59 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Pravdan Smolek. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ištvan Brkan in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ivica Brdar saved Mersin from getting behind. In the 76th minute, Mihovil Grdović hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Maksim Dumalovski managed to avoid a goal in the 77thth minute, when Mersin's Leopold Trbojević fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Leopold Trbojević came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Mersin fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leopold Trbojević couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Vladimir Aleksandrić managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mersin's supporters rose to their feet, but Vladimir Aleksandrić was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maksim Dumalovski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leopold Trbojević in the 93rd minute. Mihovil Grdović hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Kaštel Kambelovac's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
