Berislav Stipić might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Duje Rapaić. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Berislav Stipić ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 6th minute, Berislav Stipić got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Berislav Stipić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Milivoj Tepavac got free with Vjekoslav Ferić in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Duje Rapaić came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Komin Sokol's Berislav Stipić. But to his dismay, Berislav Stipić quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Milivoj Tepavac fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vjekoslav Ferić having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Berislav Stipić managed to get in a good position for a shot. Komin Sokol's supporters rose to their feet, but Berislav Stipić was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Duje Rapaić breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Drago Krencer fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Komin Sokol's protests and gave Drago Krencer a yellow card for diving instead. In the 30th minute, Drago Krencer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Sanjin Žalik in the 32nd minute really tested Vjekoslav Ferić's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 32nd minute, Grga Orlić hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 37th minute Zlatan Benčak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vjekoslav Ferić saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Berislav Stipić to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Komin Sokol's goal looked a bit too open when Siniša Bertović came free, but Vjekoslav Ferić reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Duje Rapaić made an important save on a dangerous shot by Patrik Biškup in the 70th minute. After 73 minutes, Milivoj Tepavac made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Komin Sokol's Vjekoslav Ferić tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 76 minutes, Alan Mahalec mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Komin Sokol and the Virje Sava players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 80 played minutes Komin Sokol got a freekick which was hit by Nikša Bralo. A collision led to Virje Sava getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Zlatan Benčak hit a great ball. If Zlatan Benčak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
