The Široko Polje fans' excitement grew in the 3rd match minute when Široko Polje's Eduard Grdović looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When Eduard Grdović came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Široko Polje fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eduard Grdović couldn't finish the play. Jan Rak's late challenge caught a Široko Polje's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jan Rak helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Široko Polje booed when Hrvatska was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jan Rak didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 14 minutes, Eduard Grdović managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Široko Polje's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eduard Grdović was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With his leg Darko Kolić managed to avoid a goal in the 18thth minute, when Široko Polje's Eduard Grdović fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpected shot in the 25th minute by Vlaho Kričković got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Darko Kolić stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eduard Grdović's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. 36 minutes into the game, Široko Polje's Eduard Grdović nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Darko Kolić was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 47th play minutes Eduard Grdović shot 5-0, a short shot which went by Darko Kolić and just under the crossbar into goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eduard Grdović stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Široko Polje's Rade Gradišar got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Široko Polje fully deserved thier win.
