Darko Okanović showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Živko Valjak, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. If Neno Anđelić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 22 played minutes FC MLD got a freekick which was hit by Jerko Žiha. Neven Furlan hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Antonio Kramarić showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danko Ivanda in the 34th minute of the match. Leo Mamić received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Darko Okanović tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 41 played minutes, FC MLD's Jerko Žiha shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Darko Okanović came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC MLD reached it. Živko Valjak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Živko Valjak to strike the kick off in the second half. If Živko Valjak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. An unexpected shot in the 65th minute by Živko Valjak got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Blaž Marić hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Antonio Kramarić made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danko Ivanda in the 72nd minute of play. Nebojša Hegedušić was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 76 minutes into the match. Živko Valjak recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Živko Valjak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Darko Okanović tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Darko Okanović made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Leo Mamić sent off a good shot on target. In the 93rd minute, Mitar Goleš made a precise shot to the right of Antonio Kramarić. FC MLD's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Edo Dokoza's late challenge caught a FC MLD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edo Dokoza helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, NK Rab 1986's Edo Dokoza got a free kick in the 98th minute. NK Rab 1986's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
