The supporters of HrV booed when Soljani Dragovoljac was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivan Mrvelj didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vilim Račan got free with Dobriša Pavlovec in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 46 minutes into the game, one of Soljani Dragovoljac:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 48th minute there was a penalty for HrV. Višeslav Trošelj stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Dobriša Pavlovec. 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Dobriša Pavlovec made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Višeslav Trošelj in the 54th minute of play. In the 59th match minute, Soljani Dragovoljac was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Duško Feletar to maneuver through the defense. Boris Kudumija hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Siniša Dragašević struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Dobriša Pavlovec showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Siniša Dragašević, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Višeslav Trošelj received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Dobriša Pavlovec tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Miljenko Hunjadi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. HrV walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
