The supporters of NK Shpaolin booed when Barun United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anđelko Nemet didn't get a good kick on the ball. Barun United's Ernest Kajp got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ivica Balaško received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Adolf Nađ tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rene Dugec sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ivica Balaško had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joško Pešorda received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dionisio Mikolas came out and tried to block the shot, but Joško Pešorda slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 26th minute. If Ostoja Zgurić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Njegoš Perković charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Njegoš Perković the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 30 played minutes NK Shpaolin got a freekick which was hit by Njegoš Perković. Ivica Balaško fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adolf Nađ having to interfere. Ivica Balaško might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adolf Nađ. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ivica Balaško ran back to his position shaking his head. 41 minutes into the game, Barun United's Ivica Balaško nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adolf Nađ made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Ibrica Čaplar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barun United's supporters rose to their feet, but Ibrica Čaplar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adolf Nađ breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 50th match minute, NK Shpaolin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Radimir Džamonja to maneuver through the defense. Adolf Nađ was out of position in the 52 minute of play, and Ivica Balaško capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ivica Balaško really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. In the 55th minute, Ivica Balaško ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Adolf Nađ was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Ibrica Čaplar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adolf Nađ read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, Ivica Balaško had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adolf Nađ. NK Shpaolin's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ivica Balaško was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. NK Shpaolin's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Ivica Balaško 65 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-5. After a defensive mix-up in NK Shpaolin's zone, Ivica Balaško stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adolf Nađ came out of the goal and Ivica Balaško tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Ibrica Čaplar came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Barun United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ibrica Čaplar couldn't finish the play. In the 71st match minute, NK Shpaolin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Njegoš Perković to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot 72 in the game by Ivica Balaško from a close distance when the talented Adolf Nađ managed to make a qualified save. NK Shpaolin's players were relieved. Ernest Kajp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adolf Nađ showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ibrica Čaplar, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Radoslav Tukša sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 84 minutes of play NK Shpaolin's Njegoš Perković was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground.
