In the 29th minute, Adrijan Travar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Krunoslav Dabović fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gojko Dragoslavić having to interfere. A collision led to Zagrebspor getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Romeo Biškup hit a great ball. After 48 played minutes Zagrebspor got a freekick which was hit by Mario Grabarević. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Adrijan Travar made the kick off in the second half. Mario Grabarević sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Mario Grabarević managed to get in a good position for a shot. Egon Lemić took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lazar Purgar. Lazar Purgar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. When Mato Đorđević came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Zagrebspor fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mato Đorđević couldn't finish the play. Paško Kolarević struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Gojko Dragoslavić didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zagrebspor. The supporters of Zagrebspor booed when Trnjani Zrinski was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Egon Lemić didn't get a good kick on the ball.
