The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rade Stupičić got a fine position in front of goal ttaking advantage of the opportunity to rumble in 2-0 in the right cross in the 9th match minute before Natko Gudac had time to react. Natko Gudac showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dario Preskočil in the 13th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Dario Preskočil's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Natko Gudac was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Rade Stupičić's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Natko Gudac read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Rade Stupičić sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rade Stupičić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Natko Gudac having to interfere. When Miljenko Dujić fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gabrile Vatrogasac's protests and gave Miljenko Dujić a yellow card for diving instead. After 23 played minutes Gabrile Vatrogasac got a freekick which was hit by Miljenko Dujić. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dario Preskočil in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Natko Gudac saved Gabrile Vatrogasac from getting behind. Dario Preskočil struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Natko Gudac didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for NK Bregana. Matej Ilinović fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Natko Gudac having to interfere. Maksim Mitić kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. After 40 played minutes Gabrile Vatrogasac got a freekick which was hit by Miljenko Dujić. In the 40th minute, Dario Preskočil got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Miljenko Kapor's late challenge caught a NK Bregana's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Miljenko Kapor helped the player get up and apologised. Miljenko Kapor kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Rade Stupičić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Natko Gudac having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

If Dario Preskočil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Natko Gudac showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of NK Bregana booed when Gabrile Vatrogasac was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tonino Serdar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Branislav Maraković, 64 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Tonino Serdar charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tonino Serdar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Gabrile Vatrogasac's Tonino Serdar got a free kick in the 65th minute. 66 minutes into the match, Gabrile Vatrogasac's goal looked a bit too open when Rade Stupičić came free, but Natko Gudac reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dario Preskočil in the 72nd minute of play forced Gabrile Vatrogasac's goalkeeper Natko Gudac to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Natko Gudac made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rade Stupičić in the 76th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Gabrile Vatrogasac's Ladislav Škalamera got a free kick in the 78th minute. Rade Stupičić blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Natko Gudac having to make a save. 85 minutes into the match, Gabrile Vatrogasac's goal looked a bit too open when Dario Preskočil came free, but Natko Gudac reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. NK Bregana's Dario Preskočil got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 89 minutes, Rade Stupičić made it 6-0 with a short kick to the right side. Gabrile Vatrogasac's Natko Gudac tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
