The referee ignored Orbiteri's protests and gave Adolf Mandarić a yellow card for diving instead. Franko Koloper made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sebastijan Futač in the 12th minute. A collision led to Jesenice getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Ratko Kunić hit a great ball. Cvjetko Paljar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bojan Arbanas in the 17th minute of play. The supporters of Jesenice booed when Orbiteri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimir Kefeček didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute Ratko Kunić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franko Koloper saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Franko Koloper showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastijan Sever in the 24th minute of the match. 25 minutes into the game, Pavel Čopec was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Orbiteri's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jesenice the free kick. Franko Koloper showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ratko Kunić, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Pavel Čopec was shown his second yellow card after 29 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Ratko Kunić hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Sebastijan Sever charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sebastijan Sever the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 35 played minutes Jesenice got a freekick which was hit by Sebastijan Sever. Franko Koloper made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Krešo Košutić sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Jesenice getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Sebastijan Futač hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sebastijan Futač to strike the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the game, Tomislav Bićanić was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Franko Koloper showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Radoslav Prgomet in the 61st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastijan Futač in the 65th minute of play forced Orbiteri's goalkeeper Franko Koloper to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Orbiteri's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastijan Futač came free, but Franko Koloper reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jesenice's Sebastijan Sever got his second yellow card of the match in the 78th minute. The referee ordered Sebastijan Sever off the ground. In the 80th minute of the match Petrica Sabolić sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cvjetko Paljar skillfully saved the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Orbiteri's zone, Sebastijan Futač stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Franko Koloper came out of the goal and Sebastijan Futač tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Sebastijan Futač's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Franko Koloper was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. If Adolf Mandarić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jesenice walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
