The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vanja Basarić blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vladan Zafranović having to make a save. In the 37th minute of the match Tonči Lemić sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Natko Stiplošek skillfully saved the ball. Natko Stiplošek made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adrijan Gvozdić in the 39th minute. 44 minutes into the match, Nk Pregrada's goalkeeper Natko Stiplošek had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adrijan Gvozdić. In the 46th minute, Mirko Pogorelić hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vanja Basarić to strike the kick off in the second half. Buševec NK's Krunoslav Ivašić got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Natko Stiplošek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrijan Gvozdić, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. When Marko Batinić fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Buševec NK's protests and gave Marko Batinić a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Buševec NK getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Marko Batinić hit a great ball. Natko Stiplošek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Krunoslav Ivašić in the 64th minute of the match. 66 minutes into the game, Adrijan Gvozdić was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Buševec NK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nk Pregrada the free kick. Adrijan Gvozdić hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. 70 minutes into the match, Nk Pregrada's goal looked a bit too open when Krunoslav Ivašić came free, but Natko Stiplošek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vanja Basarić recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Natko Stiplošek came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Buševec NK's Adrijan Gvozdić. But to his dismay, Adrijan Gvozdić quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Nk Pregrada's Kjell-Arne Kalfhage quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Željko Sliško, made in the 78th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrijan Gvozdić in the 82nd minute of play forced Nk Pregrada's goalkeeper Natko Stiplošek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th minute, Lovro Galinec reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Vladan Zafranović. The goal made the score 2-1. Vanja Basarić sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Vanja Basarić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Buševec NK support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
