Maksimir's Adam Dodaj was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mathias Gavilanes in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

Mathias Gavilanes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. Maksimir made a substitution. Adrijan Grbović replaced Danijel Petrlin. In the 80th minute of the game Mateo Kukoč made a throw-in which Mauro Jurišić played forward. Adrijan Grbović scored 1-6 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mathias Gavilanes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jerry Van Hespen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lv Xi Cheng in the 84th minute of play. The supporters of NK Dubrava Zagreb booed when Maksimir was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Hrste didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adrijan Grbović struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Mathias Gavilanes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maksimir. Ludo Lambert charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ludo Lambert the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ludo Lambert kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. In the 93rd minute of the match Adam Dodaj sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mathias Gavilanes skillfully saved the ball. Mathias Gavilanes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrijan Grbović, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Clarence Seedorf hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match.
