Stade Malherbe de Caen's Théodore Gillier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Titouan Roblin in the 12th minute of play. Théodore Gillier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Titouan Roblin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 18 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Teofil Imbor sped through MIAMI's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Patrice Bertin. When Jimmy Engler came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Stade Malherbe de Caen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jimmy Engler couldn't finish the play. Patrice Bertin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Teofil Imbor went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Christophe Sauvestre hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the MIAMI defense, Teofil Imbor kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Patrice Bertin. The MIAMI fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Patrice Bertin should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teofil Imbor in the 32nd minute of play forced MIAMI's goalkeeper Patrice Bertin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Patrice Bertin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jimmy Engler in the 34th minute of play. When Stade Malherbe de Caen's Jimmy Engler in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 46 played minutes MIAMI got a freekick which was hit by Roger De Castro. 47 minutes into the match, Stade Malherbe de Caen's Teofil Imbor sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Patrice Bertin narrowly saved just below the crossbar.

After 53 played minutes Stade Malherbe de Caen got a freekick which was hit by John-David Patin. Théodore Gillier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from César Rocchi in the 55th minute of the match. In the 58th minute, Stade Malherbe de Caen's Teofil Imbor ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Patrice Bertin. Patrice Bertin yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. In the 61st minute, one of Stade Malherbe de Caen:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Stade Malherbe de Caen. A collision led to Stade Malherbe de Caen getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Yazid Cauchy hit a great ball. In the 69th minute, Eymeric Thauvin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 72 played minutes, MIAMI's Eymeric Thauvin shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Théodore Gillier came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in MIAMI reached it. In the 76th minute, César Rocchi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Théodore Gillier was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. Stade Malherbe de Caen's Teofil Imbor got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 87 played minutes Teofil Imbor rounded MIAMI's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-6. Teofil Imbor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrice Bertin having to interfere. In the 98th minute Teofil Imbor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrice Bertin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match was over Stade Malherbe de Caen could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than MIAMI throughout the match.
