In the 4th minute, Marvin Alquier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 6 minutes, Djibril Halter managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Heillecourt's supporters crossed their fingers, but Djibril Halter was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 11th minute, Marvin Alquier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 11 minutes into the game, Harry Benyahia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Heillecourt's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave steaua the free kick. A hard shot by Ruben Gonet from long distance, 12 minutes into the match, got Igor Prou's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Diego Plat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Djibril Halter, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Dave Coignard managed to get in a good position for a shot. Heillecourt's supporters rose to their feet, but Dave Coignard was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diego Plat breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Diego Plat came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Heillecourt's Dave Coignard. But to his dismay, Dave Coignard quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Heillecourt's zone, Marvin Alquier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Igor Prou came out of the goal and Marvin Alquier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Oscar Clochard in the 36thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Igor Prou, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 37th match minute, Heillecourt was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sam Gayral to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Marvin Alquier managed to get in a good position for a shot. steaua's supporters rose to their feet, but Marvin Alquier was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Igor Prou breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Djibril Halter in the 42nd minute of play forced steaua's goalkeeper Diego Plat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dave Coignard was the one to do the kick off. If Dave Coignard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 62 minutes into the match, steaua's Matheo Wojcik sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Igor Prou narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Harry Benyahia was shown his second yellow card after 69 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Heillecourt's Harry Benyahia got a free kick in the 71st minute. Ruben Gonet, 71 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. When the match clock showed 74 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Oscar Clochard sped through Heillecourt's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Igor Prou. Oscar Clochard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Igor Prou tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fabien Cellier during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Fabien Cellier kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Djibril Halter blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Diego Plat having to make a save. In the 89th minute, Fabien Cellier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marvin Alquier's late challenge caught a Heillecourt's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marvin Alquier helped the player get up and apologised. Marvin Alquier hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Heillecourt's Eden Couton couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for steaua. Ruben Gonet hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Heillecourt players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
