When Yazid Duroux came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Véretz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yazid Duroux couldn't finish the play. In the 19th minute, Tim Galinier ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joaquim Chartier was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Djamel Gendron sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Courneuve's Maël Riotte got a free kick in the 28th minute. After 30 played minutes Courneuve got a freekick which was hit by William Gaye. 30 minutes into the match, Véretz's Patrick Mohamed broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Joaquim Chartier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yazid Duroux, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Gaël Boulic charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gaël Boulic the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Courneuve fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 34th minute. Penalty! In the 63rd match minute, Courneuve was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by William Gaye to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tim Galinier in the 75th minute of play forced Courneuve's goalkeeper Joaquim Chartier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Courneuve fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquim Chartier should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Djamel Gendron managed to get in a good position for a shot. Courneuve's supporters rose to their feet, but Djamel Gendron was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jean-Marc Jude breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 90th minute of the match, Djamel Gendron got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jean-Marc Jude was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post.
