Gunnar Liljeström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benoît Cornette in the 6th minute of the match. Chalèze's Salim Resseguier proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Chalèze from getting a goal against them. After 11 played minutes Chalèze got a freekick which was hit by Octave Vandamme. Fc Nantes's Gunnar Liljeström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonas Mechain in the 15th minute of play. If Sebastian Jerold had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jérémy Grataloup sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Sebastian Jerold kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Salim Resseguier. That made the score 1-0 in the 22 minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Fc Nantes's goal looked a bit too open when Octave Vandamme came free, but Gunnar Liljeström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Salim Resseguier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Jerold, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 29 minutes, Sebastian Jerold made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Chalèze's Salim Resseguier tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Gunnar Liljeström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benoît Cornette, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Benoît Cornette scored 2-2 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gunnar Liljeström, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Benoît Cornette to strike the kick off in the second half. If Sebastian Jerold had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Fc Nantes fans' excitement grew in the 59th match minute when Fc Nantes's Jérémy Grataloup looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The throw-in from Marco Virot in the 64th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Fc Nantes's Lamine Bretaudeau. Fc Nantes's Sebastian Jerold managed to work through Chalèze's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Sebastian Jerold dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. If Jérémy Grataloup had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sebastian Jerold sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 78 minutes into the game, Brice Becu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fc Nantes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chalèze the free kick. Fc Nantes's Gunnar Liljeström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benoît Cornette in the 83rd minute of play. The supporters of Fc Nantes booed when Chalèze was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Octave Vandamme didn't get a good kick on the ball. But to his dismay, Sebastian Jerold quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-2. In the 91st match minute, Fc Nantes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amine Esquerre to maneuver through the defense. 96 minutes into the match, Sebastian Jerold had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Salim Resseguier. Chalèze's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sebastian Jerold was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-2. Fc Nantes's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
