The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Pierre-Antoine Picavet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Merlin Robichon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Michaël Rosse recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Axel Rabu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Eddy Marcillac tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Etoile du Sahel's Michaël Rosse was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 10th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. If Michaël Rosse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Axel Rabu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Etoile du Sahel's supporters rose to their feet, but Axel Rabu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eddy Marcillac breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eddy Marcillac made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Michaël Rosse sent off a good shot on target. After 19 played minutes Joeuf got a freekick which was hit by Fernand Saillant. The crowd rose to their feet as Wincent Lamczyk kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Eddy Marcillac. That made the score 3-0 in the 21 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by César Blas in the 24th minute of play forced Etoile du Sahel's goalkeeper Pierre-Antoine Picavet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Axel Rabu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Etoile du Sahel's supporters rose to their feet, but Axel Rabu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eddy Marcillac breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pierre-Antoine Picavet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Merlin Robichon in the 29th minute of play. Etoile du Sahel were furious when Axel Rabu was red carded, 31 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Etoile du Sahel fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 30th minute. Penalty! Pierre-Antoine Picavet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Célestin Deplanque in the 37th minute of the match. Etoile du Sahel's Mário Santoval got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Joeuf booed when Etoile du Sahel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliazar Ariño didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wincent Lamczyk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Michaël Rosse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Eddy Marcillac tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Etoile du Sahel's Michaël Rosse got a good chance for a goal in the 49th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

Etoile du Sahel's Pierre-Antoine Picavet proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Etoile du Sahel from getting a goal against them. Mário Santoval struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Eddy Marcillac didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Etoile du Sahel. Eddy Marcillac stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Michaël Rosse's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Mário Santoval managed to get in a good position for a shot. Etoile du Sahel's supporters rose to their feet, but Mário Santoval was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eddy Marcillac breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 69th minute Mourad Becard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eddy Marcillac saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Etoile du Sahel's Mário Santoval got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eddy Marcillac showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michaël Rosse in the 72nd minute of the match. Eddy Marcillac showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mário Santoval, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. 76 minutes into the match, Etoile du Sahel's goal looked a bit too open when Merlin Robichon came free, but Pierre-Antoine Picavet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Célestin Deplanque scored 3-2 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pierre-Antoine Picavet, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Etoile du Sahel booed when Joeuf was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jean-Michel Rival didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joeuf's Fernand Saillant shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 85th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Pierre-Antoine Picavet but with some difficulty. In the 87th minute, Jean-Michel Rival hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eddy Marcillac stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Michaël Rosse's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. Michaël Rosse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eddy Marcillac having to interfere. 94 minutes into the match, Joeuf's goal looked a bit too open when Michaël Rosse came free, but Eddy Marcillac reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Etoile du Sahel walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
