After 16 minutes of play, Noisiel's Alfred Jarrier made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marius Besseau was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Alfred Jarrier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marius Besseau made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yvan De Ridder in the 23rd minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Yvan De Ridder notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Avignon's Marius Besseau. Marius Besseau showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yvan De Ridder in the 32nd minute of the match. After having played for 34 minutes, Yvan De Ridder managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Noisiel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yvan De Ridder was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Yvan De Ridder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 39 minutes into the game, Yvan De Ridder cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Marius Besseau was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

The wind increased when Yvan De Ridder made the kick off in the second half. Avignon's defense didn't have a chance, in the 53rd minute, when Alfred Jarrier scored to the left of an out of position Marius Besseau, making the score, 0-4. In the 57th minute Yvan De Ridder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marius Besseau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
