Jean-Philippe Bret showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronald Yon in the 6th minute of the match. 6 minutes into the game, Ronald Yon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Jean-Philippe Bret was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Bouillargues booed when Villecresnes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugues Guilluy didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ben Moulet in the 12th minute of play forced Bouillargues's goalkeeper Joey Seveno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 14 played minutes Villecresnes got a freekick which was hit by Hugues Guilluy. In the 25th minute, Patrick Druesne made a precise shot to the right of Jean-Philippe Bret. Villecresnes's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. When Ronald Yon came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Bouillargues fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ronald Yon couldn't finish the play. Villecresnes's Jean-Philippe Bret played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronald Yon in the 30th minute of play. Patrick Druesne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Patrick Druesne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jean-Philippe Bret didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bouillargues. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The wind increased when Ben Moulet made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Patrick Druesne managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bouillargues's supporters rose to their feet, but Patrick Druesne was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jean-Philippe Bret breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jean-Philippe Bret didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Danny Taillez went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 67th minute, Patrick Druesne got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Patrick Druesne's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jean-Philippe Bret was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. If Patrick Druesne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 73 minutes, Patrick Druesne managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bouillargues's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patrick Druesne was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 77 minutes of play, Bouillargues's Danny Taillez made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jean-Philippe Bret was left in no man's land by his defense there! Patrick Druesne received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Jean-Philippe Bret tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84th match minute, Villecresnes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Prêtre to maneuver through the defense. In the 92nd minute Patrick Druesne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean-Philippe Bret saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ronald Yon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean-Philippe Bret having to interfere. Jean-Philippe Bret took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Danny Taillez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee ended the match the Bouillargues players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
