Valérien Belhomme who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 19thth minute tested the skills of John-Paul Limare when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Germain Dubroca hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. If Mickaël Sauret had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

After a defensive mix-up in Quai Sud FC's zone, Jim Pronier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jack Gourdin came out of the goal and Jim Pronier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 87th minute, Jim Pronier left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cagny fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Vincent Niquet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vincent Niquet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Jack Gourdin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match was over Cagny could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Quai Sud FC throughout the match.
