After a defensive mix-up in Dark club's zone, Rodolphe Boisard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Willy Tourte came out of the goal and Rodolphe Boisard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 7th minute, Christian Dubail hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Willy Tourte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Émilien Reboux, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 8th minute, Émilien Reboux made a precise shot to the right of Willy Tourte. Dark club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Rodolphe Boisard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Willy Tourte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 13th minute, Rodolphe Boisard ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Willy Tourte was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Adam Puget fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willy Tourte having to interfere. Rodolphe Boisard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willy Tourte having to interfere. Émilien Reboux received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Willy Tourte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Dark club players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Olympique Lyonnais were winning 1-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sébastien Pérou to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Dark club's Christian Dubail got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Rodolphe Boisard received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Willy Tourte came out and tried to block the shot, but Rodolphe Boisard slotted it home off the left post making it 1-5 in the 54th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 60 minutes, Willy Tourte successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Olympique Lyonnais's Rodolphe Boisard was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 64th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Rodolphe Boisard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 69th minute Florent Chevrot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erwan Vetter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 71 minutes, Willy Tourte successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 71st minute, Rodolphe Boisard left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Olympique Lyonnais fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-7. After having played for 79 minutes, Christian Dubail managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dark club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christian Dubail was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rodolphe Boisard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willy Tourte having to interfere. Erwan Vetter came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Dark club's Sébastien Pérou. But to his dismay, Sébastien Pérou quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-7. 87 minutes into the match, Olympique Lyonnais's goal looked a bit too open when Noureddine Jacquemot came free, but Erwan Vetter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Sébastien Pérou fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dark club's protests and gave Sébastien Pérou a yellow card for diving instead. In the 91st minute, Sébastien Pérou hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Rodolphe Boisard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rodolphe Boisard blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Willy Tourte having to make a save. Olympique Lyonnais's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
