Merchâteau's Eden Serra proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Merchâteau from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Merchâteau defense, Jean-Charles Blanc kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eden Serra. The Merchâteau fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eden Serra should have stopped the shot. In the 87th match minute, Boussange was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacques Dehlinger to maneuver through the defense. Eden Serra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mohamed-Ali Rigault, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. When Xavier Bessin fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Merchâteau's protests and gave Xavier Bessin a yellow card for diving instead. In the 95th minute, Xavier Bessin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
