Luc Adeline's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Denis Pignard firmly grabbed it by the left post. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 15th match minute, Mondelange was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernest Eynard to maneuver through the defense. 17 minutes into the match, Luc Adeline dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Denis Pignard, 1-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Sentinelle's Noé Briquet slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Denis Pignard. That made the score 2-0 after 21 minutes of play. In the 27th minute Djamel Warin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denis Pignard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ernest Eynard hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Luc Adeline could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Denis Pignard made a huge save. Luc Adeline received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Denis Pignard came out and tried to block the shot, but Luc Adeline slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 46th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Noé Briquet stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Sentinelle getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Joris Anciaux hit a great ball. In the 55th minute Luc Adeline shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denis Pignard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 63 minutes of play, Sentinelle's Luc Adeline made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Denis Pignard was left in no man's land by his defense there! 71 minutes into the match, Marc-Aurèle Christen notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Mondelange's Denis Pignard. Denis Pignard was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mondelange's Denis Pignard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luc Adeline in the 76th minute of play. 80 minutes in the game, Gildas Heck fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Raymond Gerbeau having to interfere. With a little luck, Sentinelle's Raymond Gerbeau got control of the ball when Patrice Rochereau tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 84th match minute, Sentinelle was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luc Adeline to maneuver through the defense. The Sentinelle fans cheered their team off the field, for while Mondelange had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
